The Xiasha Campus
The Xiasha Campus of Zhejiang Gongshang University is located in the Xiasha District for Higher Educational Institutions in the northeastern part of Hangzhou City. The University's new campus borders on the Qiantang River to the east. The students' residential area is just to the north of the main campus and the staff's living area is to the south.
The Xiasha Higher Educational District has fourteen institutions with a combined student populations of 200,000. ZJGSU's Xiasha campus is the largest one in the district, an area of 667,000 square meters. The campus is laidout in the shape of an "A" and is 1,500 meters long from the eastern side to the western side and is about 450 meters wide from the southern side to the northern side.
The design of the new campus reflects the University's concepts of human-centered development, the harmony between humans and the environment and sustainable development. Located near the banks of the Qiantang River, the classroom buildings are designed in the shape of traditional Chinese ships, symbolizing that students are sailing on an ocean of knowledge. The whole campus is divided into four areas: classroom buildings, office buildings, sports facilities and residential areas. The Xiasha campus is provided with modern teaching and learning facilities and is situated amidst beautiful surroundings.
The Campus near the City Center
The Old Campus is located on Jiao Gong Road near the city center of Hangzhou. The campus contains the College of Food Science, Biotechnology & Environmental Engineering, the MBA Center, International Education Center, and College for Further Education. The International Education Center offers international students courses of Mandarin Chinese Language and Cultures, Summer Study Tours and Chinese Business courses.
The campus is only ten minutes by car from the city center and the West Lake.
